Agriculture has become a strategic sector

In his speech, the Secretary of State recalled that this year had put agriculture to the test, but thanks to the players in the sector, we can ensure the supply of the country with the right quality and quantity of food. Thanks to the persistent work of farmers during the coronavirus epidemic, Hungarian agriculture is gaining more and more social esteem.

Sándor Farkas drew attention to the fact that the government is providing HUF 25 billion in additional funds from the Economic Protection Fund to farmers, producer organizations and food businesses to deal with the economic difficulties caused by the epidemic. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture announced a package of agricultural investment tenders worth HUF 80 billion. The livestock sector can receive HUF 50 billion and the horticulture sector HUF 30 billion.
