STR Global: the performance of the world's hotel industry
Europe, Asia and America performed well, but the Arab Spring put a negative effect to the tourism of Africa and the Southern African capacity increase oversupply also caused problems. After last year's positive balance situation is uncertain in many places due to the crisis of the eurozone – reports STR Global.
The occupancy rate of Asia and the Pacific increased by only 0.2 percent to 66.8 percent, while average room rates (ADR) increased by 9.5 percent to 140.44 USD. The RevPAR increased by 9.8 percent to 93.84. According to the analyis of STR Global the slightly increasing occupancy rates in the region are due to the the capacity expansion of the recent years – reports turizmusonline.hu.
