Krisztián Steigervald: the world’s biggest sarcasm is to refer to the emergency-situation as home office
The emergency-situation was a hard time for everyone: in addition to the women having to work, there was an expectation that they would also be kindergarten teachers, educators, and kitchen fairies. These expecations were a huge burden on them, said Krisztián Steigervald, a generation researcher, to the Money Center. But he also talked about which age group suffered the most and why we couldn’t help them well. Interview.
Pénzcentrum: Over the last 10-15 years, expectations of women have widened, and in recent weeks they have been given even more burdens. Can you confirm that women are the biggest losers in the current epidemic?
Krisztián Steigervald: I think there are many losers in this situation now: graduates who could not graduate in the usual way, kindergarteners who could not go to pre-school, or small groups who could not integrate properly into the community. There are so many experiences in many ages that can define us as a loser. I would rather say that women are one of the segments that have been overburdened with far more than they were prepared for. The happiest part of the mothers was in the home office, the less fortunate part had to go to work. The communication was not to leave the child to the grandparents, not to take it to kindergarten, school, then what to do?
But the world’s biggest sarcasm is to call the home office the current state because that’s not it. In addition to having to work, there should be kindergarten teachers, educators, kitchen fairies.
