Inflation is at a standstill in the eurozone
Eurostat reported that consumer prices increased by 0.2 percent in the eurozone in August, in comparison with July. In the EU-27 consumer prices were 2.1 percent higher in July 2010 than in July 2009. However, prices decreased in Ireland (by 1.2 percent) and Latvia (by 0.7 percent). The biggest price increase, 7.1 percent was measured in Romania; in Greece prices rose by 5.5 percent.
