Stagnant economy and rising unemployment
According to Ecostat and Világgazdaság the economy stagnated in June. According to the datas of Central Statistical Office, the unemployment rate increased to 9.9 percent.
The economy is still in the vicinity of the nadir, the
recovery has not yet started. The CSO figures, that the number of unemployed
incresed by 88 thousand to 412 thousand people with a 27 percent increase,
compared to the previous year. In contrast, the unemployment rate increased
from 7.8 to 9.9 percent. Compared to the datas of 2008, 85 thousand less
Hungarians were working in the February-April period. The employment rate
decreased to 55.1 percent,the number of jobs in the 15-64 age group was 3
million 736 thousand people.
