Consumer preference for grilling stable
The grilling season when the largest part of special sausages and spices are sold is near. Consumer enthusiasm for grilling remains stable with sales totalling 900 tonnes in the March 2008-February 2009 period as well. Sales were up by 5 percent in terms of value, exceeding HUF 1 billion. Sales of grill sausages are exceptionally concentrated, with hyper markets accounting for 62 percent of sales in terms of quantity and 401-2,500 square meter stores accounting for another 32 percent. Sales of mixed spices for grilling dropped by 6 percent in terms of quantity in the above period, while that of spices in general rose. Sales of mixed spices for grilling are concentrated in bigger than 2 500 square meter stores, which accounted for 45 percent of sales in the above period.
