The SZÉP card will receive a sub-account that can be spent on sports and exercise
At the suggestion of the Secretary of State for Active Hungary, the SZÉP card will receive a sub-account for sports and exercise from 2025, the Active and Ecotourism Development Center told MTI on Wednesday.
Máriusz Révész said that the new option will play a prominent role in the Active Hungary program and will provide employers with an opportunity to encourage a healthier lifestyle among their employees, they wrote. According to the statement, 10,000 forints can be transferred to the pockets of Active Hungarians per month, and the maximum annual budget of SZÉP cards will thus increase from 450,000 forints to 570,000.
They added that the State Secretariat also informed representatives of event organizers, fitness centers, and climbing gyms interested in leisure sports about the change, who welcomed the announcement. In their opinion, the significance of the change is enormous, because many people will probably spend more on sports as a result. Máriusz Révész believes that the success of the new opportunity depends on how many employers will take advantage of it, so he considers it important that as many people as possible are informed about it, they added.
