SPAR: Taking responsibility for colleagues
According to a recent ranking, with its 13,000 employees SPAR Hungary was the fifth biggest employer in the country in 2012. SPAR’s fundamental principle is that the group’s success relies on dedicated and well-trained employees. The company has been rewarding its workers with various benefits (e.g. insurance, cheap mobile phone subscriptions, holidays, etc.) for years. In 2012 50 percent of employees participated in some kind of training programme – they could choose from more than 50 courses. SPAR also places great emphasis on educating the next generation: the company receives vocational school and university students as part of its internship programme. In 2010 SPAR was honoured with the Disabled Friendly Workplace recognition. Each year SPAR takes more and more workers’ children camping in the summer, free of charge. Last year the company organised a family day with the motto ‘Where do mommy and daddy work?’, when in the Bicske and Üllő logistics centres family members had the chance to see how things work at SPAR, plus they also took part in fun programmes. The SPAR Football Championship has been organised for the fourth time this year and the final will take place at the marvellous Ferenc Puskás Football Academy in Felcsút, on 25 August 2013.
