Budapest will be full of foreigners during the Easter period. According to Kiwi.com booking data*, the number of travelers here will increase significantly compared to last year’s spring break. While Hungarians mostly travel to Italy, most people come to Budapest from Spain, followed by Italians and the British. Budapest is a classic long weekend destination.

“Budapest stands out among the capitals of the region at Easter and has become one of the most attractive European city break destinations during this period. Based on our booking data, it is clear that it attracts an increasingly wide international audience, not only from traditionally strong markets, but also from new countries,”

– said Daniela Chovancová, Kiwi.com’s press relations manager.

One of the most visible trends is the strengthening of Anglo-Saxon markets. The number of travelers from the United Kingdom (+187%) and the United States (+480%) is increasing significantly, so we can expect to hear many more English words on the streets of Budapest during the spring break.

In 2026, travelers will arrive from Kosovo and Vietnam during the Easter period, indicating the expansion of Budapest’s global reach.

According to data from Kiwi.com, the majority of travelers arrive during this period for short city visits of a few days. The length of stay at Easter is typically 3–4 days, making Budapest a classic, intensive long weekend destination.
