The Hungarian paprika production is declining
Slowly the Hungarian paprika production is wasting away, if nothing changes – the president of the Hungarian Spice Paprika Product Council told Magyar Nemzet.
This page quoted Németh József in its Monday issue, who said that a few hundred million HUF would be needed for the survival of the industry. They made a 16-point package of proposals, but response has not yet received from the government.
The expert pointed out that the Hungarian production more expensive than the competitors, because inm Hungary peppers are dried with gas, while others usually make it under the sun. The price of the paprika in Hungary is 30-40 percent above the global average. (hirado.hu, MTI)
