The Hungarian beer industry closed a weak first quarter, but the largest producers are confident that the turnover will pick up for the rest of the year, said Sándor Kántor László, director of the Association of Hungarian Brewers said.
The combined production of the five most significant domestic brewers (Borsodi Sörgyár Kft., Carlsberg Hungary Kft., Dreher Sörgyárak Zrt., Heineken Hungária Zrt. And Pécsi Sörfőzde Zrt.) was 1.055 million hectoliters in the first quarter, only 0.3 percent higher than in the previous quarter. their domestic beer sales also increased slightly, by 0.6 percent, to 1.087 million hectoliters.
