Pub Opening Advertisement from 1909 – Picture of the Day
The advertisement was published in the 1909/10 issue of the Újvidéki Napló: a piece of professional history that we can learn for sure is that, regardless of the Gambrinus brand of beer that appeared 10 years later (in 1919), the Czechs were already happy to associate the name of the heavy-drinking Prince of Brabant, who was otherwise only indirectly associated with the Czechs, with good drink (i.e. Czech beer) – but we won’t tell you any more, since the beginning of the story is just a legend, half of which is not even certain to be true…
