The Mug Trap is a 3D-printable, mechanical coaster that works on the principle of animal traps: when a glass or mug is placed on it, the “jaws” of the structure automatically close, thus securing the drink in place. This is not only a spectacular and humorous solution, but also helps prevent spills and the risk of tipping. The project combines creative engineering design with functionality, and the STL files are freely downloadable from the Thangs platform, so anyone can print their own version.
