Much less apricot and sour cherry were produced than last year
Among the fruit crops, sour cherry picking was 90 percent complete on July 16. The national average decreased by a third compared to last year, to 3.6 tons/hectare. The yield per hectare in Csongrád-Csanád and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties reached only 1.0–2.1 tons/hectare, however, in Zala county the average yield per hectare was 7.6 tons and in Vas county it was 8.1 tons.

The apricot yield did not even come close to the outstanding yield average of the previous year in 2025, the harvested yield was 5.8 thousand tons at the time of the report. The harvest was completed in nine counties. The highest average yield (16.4 tons/hectare) was achieved in Komárom-Esztergom County, and the highest yield (3.1 thousand tons) was achieved in Somogy County. Apricot picking was completed on 83 percent of the production area by the time of the report, and the national average yield was 1.4 tons/hectare. Peach picking was at 27 percent on July 16, with an average yield of around 3.1 tons/hectare, which is less than a third of last year’s yield per hectare.
