Tons of help: donation of sanitary paper products to the most vulnerable
Vajda-Papír is providing thousands of needy children, institutions of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service’s children’s programs, and children participating in the national program of the Hungarian Maltese Sports Association (Maltai SE) with enough sanitary paper products for one year. The donation of more than 10 tons of sanitary paper products will cover the needs of more than 6,000 children for at least one year in the institutions, kindergartens, schools, foster parent network, and the Maltese SE program in disadvantaged areas and catch-up settlements. The donation, worth tens of millions of forints, was received by Péter Szabadhegÿ, president of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, and the young players of the Maltese SE from Attila Vajda, managing director of the owner of Vajda-Papír, at the Charity Service’s headquarters.
Attila Vajda, the managing director of the owner of Vajda-Papír, recalled that the cooperation between Vajda-Papír and the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service began in 2020 with Father Imre Kozma. “Father Imre’s commitment, strength, and the deep humanity with which he turned to the disadvantaged are exemplary for us. His spirituality showed the way and still defines our common path. We think of him with gratitude and feel it is our duty to continue on the path he has set,” he said. He highlighted: “We are glad that President Péter Szabadhegÿ is carrying on this legacy with deep commitment, we hope that with our modest means we can support his work and his serious efforts to strengthen volunteerism.”
He added that the company supports those in need with product donations through the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service every year, and this will not be any different in the future. He emphasized that helping disadvantaged people, families, and children is a common social obligation, which is why Vajda-Papír joins the charitable organization’s programs every year. At the same time, we would like to draw the attention of the domestic entrepreneurial class to the importance of social responsibility, he added.
Attila Vajda announced that this year, Vajda-Papír will help thousands of children living in disadvantaged regions and catch-up settlements with its products. “We are providing sanitary paper products for a whole year to the Maltese SE program and the institutions of the children’s programs that create opportunities throughout the country. In this way, we would like to contribute to improving the everyday lives of disadvantaged children. We are also very proud that children can now play in a Vajda-Papír jersey. We believe that the power of sport goes far beyond physical activity: it builds community, gives hope and creates opportunities for social integration. The activities of the Hungarian Maltese Sports Association are a good example of how sport can become an effective tool for social work, especially in disadvantaged settlements,” said the managing director of Vajda-Papír.
The integration of people with difficult fates can only be successful if the leading figures of the majority society also feel it is important and do their best to achieve it. Integration cannot be considered the task of charitable organizations; only broad cooperation can bring a real solution. Vajda Papír publicly His commitment has been a positive example for years, and his consistent support for our common cause conveys an important message to everyone. For this, we are at least as grateful as for the donation itself, which is of course significant in itself, as they support our work with tens of millions of forints worth of products every year – said Péter Szabadhegÿ, president of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
