A French MP would like to ban fast food joints in the 200-metre zone of schools, just like it is done with places that sell alcohol. Nutritionists are of the opinion it would be enough to oblige fast food restaurants to sell healthier food. • Heston Blumenthal opened his second restaurant, in the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel in London. In the luscious interior Blumenthal will try to prove that English cuisine is not as boring as many think. • British health secretary Andrew Lansley apologised to Jamie Oliver after he had rubbished the TV chef’s campaign to get schoolchildren to eat healthier food.
