More than 1.3 million guest nights were registered in Siófok last year
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), in 2023, 3 million guests spent 8.8 million guest nights in commercial and private accommodation in the Balaton region. The number of guest nights was 2 percent less than the previous year, and 28 percent came from foreign guests. Compared to the year 2022, the number of foreign guest nights increased by 10 percent – they remind in the announcement.
Among the resorts in the resort region, last year Siófok had the most guest nights, 1.3 million, followed by Hévíz (1 million), Balatonfüred (874 thousand), Zalakaros (725 thousand) and Keszthely (301 thousand). 70 percent of the guest nights in Siófok were given by locals, and 60 percent of them were realized in commercial accommodations. In addition to Germany, most foreign tourists came from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, they added.
