The Continental Tobacco Industry Group has successfully completed its nearly HUF 10 billion factory hall development
The Continental Tobacco Industry Group has successfully completed its nearly HUF 10 billion investment in its tobacco factory in Sátoraljaújhely by handing over the new tobacco preparation hall and modernizing the traditional production line. The development that started in 2021 is a decisive milestone in the life of the company in terms of production capacity, robotization and competitiveness, and it also helps Continental to create additional jobs in the region.

Modernization is also reflected in mechanization
Work on the investment of the Continental Tobacco Group began at the beginning of 2021, the main elements of which were the construction of a three-story, 1,800-square-meter factory hall with a total floor area of 5,400 square meters, equipped with modern machinery, and the modernization of the production line that had been producing until then. In addition to increasing the tobacco cut production capacity by about 25 percent, the investment significantly modernized the tobacco preparation process through the installed machines, including a carton-opening industrial robot, thereby significantly increasing the company’s competitiveness. The development is also an important milestone from the point of view of human resources, as it helps the tobacco company, as one of the largest employers in Sátoraljaújhely, to create additional jobs in the region.
