The 17th Coop Rally was a success
The team of Polus Sütő Kft. won the 17th Coop Rally, the final award ceremony of which took place on Thursday evening in Zalakaros. As part of the professional program promoting quality Hungarian food production and products, this year the competition visited six key food industry manufacturing and distribution companies and two COOP member companies in the western part of Hungary.
The 17th organized Coop Rally was won by Polus Sütő Kft.’s team, while the special prize of the Ministry of Agriculture was given to Gyermelyi Zrt., which was received by Béla Tóth, the company’s president and director. With this, the department recognizes that the company represents quality “from production through processing to trade”.
On the occasion of the professional program, a field consisting of member companies of the chain and supplier partners of the company group visited eight stations in five western Hungarian counties (Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom, Somogy, Vas, Veszprém) and Budapest (six food manufacturing companies and two Coop member companies) . Nearly three hundred people took part in the competition, representing domestic food industry, retail, service and media companies. The participants cover annual product sales of approximately 2,200 billion forints in the domestic food trade market and, together with the COOP Group, more than 30,000 employees.
At the now traditional event, food processing companies are presented to the participants with the aim of drawing attention to the values of innovative domestic food production based on tradition and the importance of buying Hungarian products. During this year’s Coop Rally, the participants visited two dairy plants, one each for meat, pasta and baking plants, as well as a winery. They also visited a Coop Szuper Plusz store and a logistics center that was modernized with an investment of nearly 3.5 billion.
