Last year was a successful one for Tesco
29 new stores, the launch of the Clubcard and innovation serving the demand of customers – these were the milestones of Tesco’s successful 2010 year. With the new stores Tesco created 1,700 jobs, many of these in regions where the unemployment rate is rather high. The company’s gross turnover in Hungary was HUF… With significant changes the hypermarket in Fogarasi road was turned into a Tesco Extra store, which is the first unit in Hungary that offers Tesco’s best shopping experience. In the Dunakeszi-Fót store Tesco installed 4 self-service checkout tills. One of the most important events for Tesco was launching the Clubcard loyalty programme, for the points collected customers get vouchers and coupons. In a short period of time 1 million customers joined the programme. This year Tesco Hungary will keep focusing on improving the shopping experience and on innovation.
