This year’s pre-booking campaign in tourism has been successful
The previous year’s successes in the travel industry and the summer outbound trends, which even exceeded the 2019 turnover, indicate that market participants expect further growth. Tour operators have been facing increasing demand for two years during the pre-booking period, which runs from December to March. This year, the charter travel agencies are tempting pre-bookers with outstanding 30-40% discounts.
Based on last year’s experience, better prices can often be obtained during the pre-booking period than during last-minute promotions. Due to the limited number of available seats, travelers should review the offers early and take advantage of the early booking discounts. The cost of this year’s trips is not expected to rise as drastically as last year, although prices have increased by 10%. Inflation, energy and kerosene prices can be felt in prices, but the strengthening of the forint supports the growth of outbound travel demand – Balázs Bakó, MUISZ spokesperson, told Világggazdaság about market trends.
The pre-booking period is crucial for travel agencies, who sell around 50% of their summer capacity during this period. According to experience, interest continues to grow compared to the previous year, and Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt and Tunisia are still among the most popular destinations. Organized flights to Mallorca, other Spanish and Madeira territories are new.
