Shell Fleet Solutions – Everything is possible together
Lajos Veér, has been named sales director of Shell Fleet Solutions in Hungary and Romania. Our magazine asked him about his experiences at Shell since 1996 and his plans for the future.
T. M.: – In what ways is your new position different from your former jobs at Shell?
– I started my career at Shell as euroShell fuel card sales manager, so I know the world of fuel cards very well. It is a great feeling to see the development of the last 20 years, both for the country, our partners and Shell Hungary.
T. M.: – What were the milestones of your career at Shell?
– I had many exciting jobs, but one of the most interesting periods was the six years I spent in Russia, establishing the Shell fuel supply chain. In the last five years I worked in the field of alternative fuels, mainly liquefied natural gas (LNG).
T. M.: – How can the interests of customers and the company be harmonised, taking into consideration the fact that sustainability is very important these days?
– We see that in the case of passenger cars and vans electric drive will gather ground, while in case of heavy duty vehicles, LNG – either fossil or bio – will most likely advance in the next few years. Along the main European transport corridors LNG filling stations are already being built.
T. M.: – How can utilise your experience from former positions in your new job?
– I got an insight into the rapid changes in customer needs, and in product and services offerings. Thanks to this, at the moment my task is to develop services for corporate fleets and freight forwarders that suit their needs and are sustainable as well.
T. M.: – What does this mean in practice?
– The euroShell card and the connected services keep expanding, offering access to Shell’s top-quality fuels and every mobility-related service all over Europe. This is clearly indicated by our globally changed name – the Shell Fleet Solutions, which represents that today we can offer far more to our customers than I or anyone would have thought twenty years ago.
