Food industry lagging behind
Industrial production rose by 9.8 per cent in the February 2007 – February 2008 period. Industrial export was up by 15.5 per cent in February 2008, compared to the previous year. Domestic sales were up by 3.1 per cent. A drop in production of 2.6 per cent was recorded in the food, beverages and tobacco sector, while the textile industry produced 14.8 per cent less, than a year before.
