Investor pessimism in the eurozone increased in November compared to October, while experts had expected the opposite, according to a report by the Sentix GmbH economic research institute on Monday.

The Sentix Economic Index, which reflects investor sentiment in the eurozone, weakened to minus 7.4 points in November from minus 5.4 points in October. Analysts had expected a less gloomy outlook, an improving index, and a minus 3.9 points for November.

According to the more than 1,100 professional and private investors surveyed, both the assessment of the current situation and expectations have deteriorated.

The current situation index fell to minus 17.5 points in November from minus 16 points in October, while the expectations index for the next six months fell from 5.8 points to 3.3 points.

Investors in Germany are also more pessimistic, with the sentiment index falling to minus 20.4 points in November from minus 17.9 points in October, primarily due to the expectation indicator changing from 2.8 points in October to minus 0.5 points in November.
