Help for young farmers: almost 5,300 applicants receive support
The government continues to work to ensure that farmers receive payments due for their 2024 applications as soon as possible. As a result, the final payment of the supplementary support for young farmers will also begin in the last days of April. In the coming days, almost 5,300 applicants will receive a total of about 3.6 billion forints in support.

The Ministry of Agriculture has long been making maximum use of all opportunities within the EU framework and even in its domestic toolbox to create additional opportunities for young farmers, as the success of generational change is the key to the future of Hungarian agriculture. Young farmers have never had to compete with larger farmers, as separate calls for applications provide them with the opportunity to access the development funds necessary for progress. The disbursement of additional area-based support for young farmers will continue with final payments after the advance payment of 2.7 billion forints last autumn. The amount paid under the title of supporting the rejuvenation of domestic agriculture, set as a long-term goal by the government, will thus increase to 6.3 billion forints.
The specific amount of the support is 37,255 forints per hectare, which is made up of the possible advance payment and the final payment
In addition to the supplementary support, several support schemes help young people in the initial period of agricultural activity. They can apply for basic and redistributive support, they can request production-related support, and they can also participate in the Agro-ecological Program.
