Herbal teas help to prevent catching a cold and can be used to treat the symptoms
Many people catch a cold now that winter is approaching. If one goes down with a cold, the best way to overcome it is drinking diaphoretic herbal tea, e.g. tea made from linden flower and elderflower. These herbs are typically not grown but collected, usually 25-30 tons of linden flower and 50 tons of elderflower are processed in a year. Elderflower is grown on 5,875ha in Hungary. Chamomile tea is also good for cold treatment. Top quality chamomile is grown in Hungary, usually it is collected and grown on the Great Hungarian Plain – it is produced on 300-450ha. Hungarian medicinal herbs are exported in large quantities. Most of what stays here is used to make herbal tea – experts estimate the size of the market to be HUF 4-5 billion a year. //
