The European Commission will help dairy farmers
The European Commission proposes new measures to help dairy producers – announced Mariann Fischer Boel, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Brussels. Meanwhile, the European Parliament calls for more decisive actions.
The measures includes the state aid process, which has already been launched, allowing member states to provide emergency aid to dairy farmers worth of 15 thousand euros per producer. An expert working group will be established to develop medium-and long-term measures. The expert working group will be in charge for following up the contracts between the farmers and the dairy industry, to balance supply and demand conditions, in order to ensure fair market competition – reports Világgazdaság Online.
