Schanda Tamás: consumers’ rights are further strengthened
The government will further strengthen consumer rights from May 2022, when new rules come into force to prevent tricky price cuts, the parliamentary and strategic secretary of state of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) announced at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.
Schanda Tamás said that according to the changes due next year, a price reduction will only be announced if the previous price is the one that was the lowest in the thirty days before the action. The provision puts an end to the trick of drastically charging a product for a few days and then offering a seemingly large discount from it, the secretary of state stressed. (MTI)
