Shanghai Innovation Forum: Hungarian egg innovations also received a spotlight
Hungary was the guest of honor at this year’s Shanghai Innovation Forum. The Hungarian delegation was represented by a high level of state participation, as well as the prominent location and size of the Hungarian pavilion, the numerous joint programs and the excellently atmospheric Chinese-Hungarian gastronomic and cultural evening also increased the intimacy of the event and strengthened the friendship between the two nations.
Thanks to the National Innovation Agency, several Hungarian companies were also able to present themselves at the Shanghai Innovation Forum. In this way, the company that developed the protein-rich milk product substitutes based on egg whites, i.e. ToTu, was also able to show itself and its innovations on the Far Eastern market.
“We are very grateful that we were able to represent Hungary together with several excellent and innovative companies. Many people may not know, but the proportion of lactose-sensitive people, which in Hungary is around 30% of the total population, affects almost the entire population in China. Moreover, contrary to European trends , there is an increasing demand for high-quality animal protein sources. Thus, the existence of an egg white-based curd, cream cheese, and strawberry yogurt alternative is completely justified we are taking the first quick steps”
– said Dr. Csaba Németh, food engineer, c. university teacher.
The promotion of Hungarian dairy product innovations abroad will naturally continue in nearby countries as well. The latest developments will soon be presented to several food business managers in Belgrade and Skopje.
