Reál took a big step forward with its own warehouses
Tibor Kujbus, managing director of Reál Hungária told us that 2012 was a busy year for the company. On 14 January the headquarters moved to a new office, located in the new Reál Cash&Carry store in Budapest. In February Reál opened two new central warehouses, one in Budapest (on Kondorosi Road in the 11th district) on 6,500m² and another in Pécs (on Megyeri Road) on 4,200m². The main task of the new logistics centres is to provide Reál Élelmiszer and ReálPONT stores with food – 90 percent of the warehouses’ turnover is realised by Reál’s own store network. Opening the new warehouses soon doubled the number of Reál and ReálPONT stores in the region. Reál keeps developing its store network too, stores are being refurbished and special emphasis is given to the Reál Prémium line. Just recently a new Reál Prémium store opened in Csepel, which is the pearl of the retail chain. The company’s objective is to set a good example to partners with this store: a pleasant, friendly shopping environment and a wide range of goods and services can be the way forward for Reál shops. According to Mr Kujbus, there is still lots of work to do, but last year proved that the company’s strategy is good.
