The Varga Winery operates a wine bottle collection system

The Winery Varga will only bottle its wines into returnable bottles with own logo. This is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution, which is a competitive advantage against foreign products – Varga Bálint, managing director of the Varga Pincészet Kft. (Varga Winery Ltd.) tols at a press conference on Wednesday at the Buda Castle Wine Festival.

He said that their own wine bottle collection system was introduced on 1 January 2013. 70 percent of the bottles with the Varga logo was returned by the customer. According to their calculations, they recollect 4-4.5 million bottles from the annual amount of 5 million bottles, which brings 63 HUF savings per bottle, while the customer is given 99 HUF in case of redemption.
