Eating insects against food shortages?
Brussels experts believe that eating insects could solve the food shortage in an environmentally friendly way.
The meat of beetles, worms and other reptiles is low in fat and cholesterol. According to a study; a grasshopper's protein content is 20 percent, while its fat ratio is only 6 percent. In beef 24 percent protein, but 18 percent fat can be found. The cricket is rich in calcium, termite in natural iron, and the larvae of the silkworm in vitamin B2 and in copper – reports MTI, after the Daily Telegraph.
