Economic sentiment in the euro area and the EU deteriorated in August
The final value of the European Commission’s euro area economic sentiment index in August fell more than previously from the previous month’s peak. The EU sentiment index also declined.
Economic sentiment in Europe deteriorates according to a report by DG EcFin (Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs) of the European Commission published on Monday. The Economic Sentiment Index (ESI) fell by 1.5 points to 117.5 points in August from a record 119.0 points in July. The preliminary value of the index published a week ago was 117.9 points. (MTI)
