The economic mood deteriorated in the EU and the euro area in June, and Hungary improved
The economic sentiment index deteriorated in the euro area and the European Union in June, while it improved in Hungary, according to a survey presented on Thursday by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN).
The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in the Eurozone fell from 96.1 points in May to 95.9 points, and the economic sentiment index of the European Union fell from 96.6 points to 96.4 points.
The Employment Expectations Indicator (EEI) weakened from 101.2 points to 100.4 points in the EU, and from 101.3 points to 99.7 points in the euro area.
The consumer sentiment index in the EU increased from minus 13.2 points in May to minus 12.9 points, and in the euro area from minus 14.3 points to minus 14 points in June.
