More than seven million tons of wheat and rye was grown in Romania this year. It is the best harvest in the last eight years – Daniel Constantin Romanian Minister of Agriculture said on Friday.
The ministry leader explained: According to datas of the Ministry of Agriculture, 7.296 million tons of wheat and rye was grown on 2.63 million hectares of land this year.
This year, barley was grown on a smaller area, but the yield was the highest in the last 23 years, 3.2 tons per hectare, so this year's barley crop is 1.511 million tons. (MTI)
