The number of tourists increased in Romania, but the number of foreigners decreased in the first quarter
The number of tourists increased by 5.8 percent to 2,317 million in the first quarter in Romania. The number of foreign tourists declined by 7.7 percent to 443,900, while the number of domestic residents increased by 9.7 percent to 1.873 million – the Romanian National Statistical Institute announced on Monday.
The number of guest nights increased by 8.7 percent to 4.488 million, during the same period in commercial hotels, compsred to a year before.
Most of the foreign guests were from Italy, Germany and Israel, Hungary was the seventh in the ranking with 20,300 tourists. (MTI)
