In Romania, annual inflation slowed to 6.7 percent
The annual inflation rate in Romania fell to 6.7 percent in November, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Wednesday. This is 1.4 percentage points lower than the value measured in October.
Compared to October, the consumer price index did not increase, but decreased by 0.01 percentage point. The average price of food decreased by 0.16 percentage points and that of non-food products by 0.07 percentage points in the last month. The INS measured a 0.39 percent price increase in services alone compared to October.
In an annual comparison, the largest price increase of 6.8 percent was still shown for food. Fresh fish costs 16 percent, pork and canned fruit 13 percent, beef 12 percent, and sheep’s cheese (telemea) 11 percent more than a year ago, but alcoholic beverages also rose in price by more than ten percent on average.
