Retail sales in Romania increased by 5.7 percent in January
According to raw data, the volume of retail sales in Romania increased by 5.7 percent in January compared to January of the previous year, the Romanian National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Monday.
The seasonally and calendar-adjusted data series shows a 5.3 percent increase. According to raw data, the expansion is mainly due to a 9.1 percent increase in turnover in non-food retail, sales of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 5.4 percent. A 0.4 percent drop was recorded in fuel sales compared to January of last year.
