Retail sales in Romania increased by 3.9 percent in the first two months
In the first two months, according to raw data, the volume of Romanian retail trade increased by 3.9 percent compared to the same period last year, the Romanian National Statistics Institute announced on Thursday.
According to the value adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the increase was 3.8 percent in the examined period. According to the data, the sales volume of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 5.9 percent, that of non-food products by 5.5 percent, while the sale of fuel fell by 2.7 percent.
In February, according to raw data, the volume of retail trade rose by 2.8 percent compared to the second month of last year
measured, while according to the value adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the expansion was 3.2 percent. Compared to January, a decrease of 2 percent and 0.6 percent was recorded, respectively, according to the raw and adjusted values.
