In Romania, the growth of retail sales slowed to 3.4 percent in the first four months
In Romania, according to raw data, the volume of retail trade increased by 3.4 percent in the first four months compared to the same period last year, the national statistics institute (INS) announced on Tuesday. Growth in the first quarter was still 5.2 percent.
According to the value adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, a 3.1 percent increase in retail sales was registered until April 30 this year, after a 5.1 percent increase in the first quarter.

In April, according to the raw data series, the Romanian retail turnover was 1.6 percent lower than last April’s level, while according to the value adjusted for the calendar effect, it was 1.5 percent lower. Compared to March of this year, the decline according to raw data was 5.2 percent, and taking seasonal and calendar effects into account, it was 3.7 percent in April.
