The slowdown in the growth of retail sales continued in Romania in July: in the first seven months, according to raw data, the growth was 2.7 percent compared to the same period last year, the national statistics institute (INS) announced on Wednesday.
In the first quarter, growth was still 5.2 percent, which slowed to 3 percent (year-on-year) by the end of the second quarter.
According to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the volume of retail trade increased by 2.6 percent in the first seven months of this year compared to the first seven months of last year.
According to raw data, the sales of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 3.6 percent, the sales volume of non-food products by 4.4 percent, while the sales of fuel decreased by 2.3 percent compared to the first seven months of the previous year. compared to data.
