In Romania, the number of guest nights in commercial accommodation increased by 20 percent to 2.192 million in the first two months of this year, compared to the same period last year, the Romanian National Statistical Institute said on Friday.

The number of guest nights spent by domestic tourists increased by 10.5 percent to 1.918 million, while the number of foreign nights rose to 273,800 from 91,500 last year.

The number of guest nights increased by 25 percent in January and 15.6 percent in February. In the first two months, the number of tourists arriving at commercial accommodation establishments increased by 18.2 percent to 1.157 million, the number of domestic tourists increased by 10 percent to 1.035 million, while the number of foreign tourists increased to 122,600.
