Online retail to accelerate: we can expect 266 billion HUF turnover this year
In 2014 the domestic e-retailers can be satisfied, as in previous years, the online retail market has increased significantly, which is expected to reach 266 billion HUF by the end of this year and take a steeper growth path as well. It is the first time that eNET made a medium-term forecast and on the basis of the surveys the experts are optimistic.
2014: optimism in online retailing
Year after year, huge expectations are surrounding the notification on online retail turnover. In 2013 the magic number was 217 billion HUF, which corresponded to the 3.1 percent of the total retail sales in Hungary. The big question is obvious for everyone what can we expect in 2014 and in the near future? It is the first time that eNET carried out a medium-term forecast for the 2014-2018 period. According to the optimistic forecast, the Hungarian online retail sales will reach 266 billion HUF, 49 billion HUF and 22.5 percent more than in 2013.
