Revolut: cash payments at OMV wells will be discontinued – the function will be permanently discontinued from January 26th
Revolut’s Hungarian cash deposit pilot has ended: the fintech launched the service in December 2023 in cooperation with Paysafe, at OMV gas stations, but only made it available to a narrow range of users. The test will not be followed by a live launch, the function will be phased out.
According to RevB.hu, a 2.5% fee was charged for cash deposits, and the limits were tightened during the test period: the daily maximum was 209 thousand forints, and the annual limit was reduced from 7.5 million to 1.9 million forints. According to the information sent to test users, cash can no longer be loaded into a Revolut account in Hungary from January 26, 2026.
The removal is also interesting from a commercial perspective because the articles highlight that cash deposits into a Revolut account are currently not available in Hungary, either at a bank branch or via an ATM, while Revolut’s own ATMs with a cash deposit option have already appeared in other countries.
