Máriusz Révész: the SZÉP card can put ten thousand forints per month into the pockets of active Hungarians, it is also in the interest of employers
The biggest winner of the 2025 budget is an active, healthy lifestyle. There are significantly more resources, and employers can put ten thousand forints per month into the pockets of active Hungarians with the SZÉP card, said the State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for an active Hungary in the morning program of the M1 current affairs channel on Thursday.
Máriusz Révész added that next year it will become automatic that 10 percent of the public health product tax must be spent on an active lifestyle. Thus, the previous 3 billion forints is expected to increase to 9.4 billion, i.e. the resources in this area will increase by 6.4 billion forints.
The State Secretary highlighted that a pocket called active Hungarians will appear on the SZÉP card next year, where the employer can put ten thousand forints per month, which can only be spent on a healthy lifestyle.
This increases the budget that can be spent on the card to 570 thousand forints.
Máriusz Révész drew attention to the importance of regional cooperation in order to increase tourist attractiveness using the example of the El Camino pilgrimage route.
He said that few of the settlements on the El Camino could list some, but everyone knows the pilgrimage route and its tourist appeal also radiates to the settlements.
Máriusz Révész also spoke on the Kossuth Radio morning magazine show that
according to surveys, 9.7 percent of deaths in Hungary can be attributed to a sedentary lifestyle, which means that an average of 37 people lose their lives every day due to causes related to little exercise.
He said that ten thousand forints per month can be put into the pockets of Hungarians who are active with the SZÉP card, which is also in the interest of employers, to preserve the health of their employees.
