I finished my last piece by stating that I did not intend to write about this again. I was wrong, the situation deteriorated further. I still think that some kind of autarchic economic policy will not do any good to our forint. When the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) started reviewing the code of ethics on the food production chain, our political elite (with a five-party consensus!) stepped into action. Although 80/20 was discarded, the regulation on background conditions made its way into the text. We are drifting away from the European mainstream.
