Grape and fruit growers who suffered severe spring frost damage will receive extraordinary assistance
The spring frost, which came in several waves this year, caused severe damage to grape and fruit orchards across the country. The Ministry of Agriculture, based on the consultation with the sectoral inter-professional organization, has created the opportunity for the early payment of part of the damage mitigation benefit. The advance payment is 100 thousand forints per damaged hectare.

The advance payment application can be submitted electronically between July 16 and 31, 2025, on the Hungarian State Treasury’s dedicated interface. It is not necessary to attach the decision of the agricultural damage assessment body, i.e. the county government office, to the application. The agricultural damage mitigation body will make a decision on the advance payment application no later than August 25, 2025, after which the awarded amount will be disbursed to the producer within 5 days. The amount of the advance is included in the damage mitigation benefit that can be claimed after the 2025 damage mitigation year, so it is important that those who wish to take advantage of the early payment option pay the damage mitigation contribution by the deadline and submit the application for the benefit. Producers who suffered spring frost damage will receive the remaining part of the awarded amount in the usual procedure, in March 2026.
