Great news has arrived from the Eger wine region
The Egri Borvidék – Egri Bikavér master course was announced as an accompanying program of the Berliner Wine Trophy 2024 wine competition to the international judges participating in the wine competition. The location of the masterclass was Berlin’s DWM Hotel am Borsigturm, who offered their wonderful tasting room for the presentation on Sunday afternoon, July 28.
Thanks to Nándor Béki, Diplomat in Agriculture and Environment at the Embassy of Hungary in Berlin, for the excellent organization!
The primary goal of the master course was education, to present the characteristics and special features of the Egri Wine Region, the Egri Product Description, the diversity and uniqueness of the Egri Bikavérs, the power and creativity inherent in blending.
It was heartwarming to see how much interest there was in the program, which was attended by 47 international wine experts, Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, journalists and importers.
They listened to the presentation with great interest and tasted the 6 special Egri Bikavér that I presented:
Thummerer Egri Bikavér Classicus 2020
Bolyki and Bolyki Egri Bikavér Superior 2019
Böjt Egri Bikavér Superior Selection 2021
Ferenc Tóth Castle Guard Egri Bikavér Grand Superior Sík-hegy 2021
Gál Tibor Pajados Egri Bikavér Grand Superior 2021
St. Andrea Merengő Egri Bikavér Superior 2021
The tasting order of the wines mainly followed the classicus-superior-grand superior product description. All wines were presented in their most beautiful state, chilled and aerated, complete with projection.
