A record number of foreign tourists visited the Czech Republic last year
Last year, a record 8.08 million foreign tourists visited the Czech Republic, which is 3 percent increase annually, while the traffic of domestic tourists decreased by about 2-3 percent on year on year comparision – Mag Consulting torism company estimates on the basis of the data of the Czech Statistical Office.
“In terms of guest nights 2014 was not successful. According to our calculations, the Czech and the foreign tourists spent 42.4 million guest nights at commercial accommodations, which is a 2 percent decline, compared to the previous year.” – Jaromír Beránek director of Mag Consulting told. He added that last year, the Czechs traveled abroad more, which is in connection with the improvement of the economic situation. (Kokes János, MTI)
