A record number of foreign visitors visited the Czech Republic last year
A record 27.8 million foreign visitors visited the Czech Republic last year, which is annual increase of 8 percent.
The majority of them 14.4 million tourists spent there only one day. The foreign visitors spent an average of 2769 crowns – the CzechTourism agency announced in a statement.
60 percent of the one-day visitors are from Germany, the proportion of Slovaks and Austrians is 14-14 percent, while 10 percent came from Poland. They basically go shopping, especially into the border regions. (Kokes János, MTI)
